Information System for Certificates for Lecturers at Harapan Bangsa Polytechnic, Surakarta

Abstract


The system for issuing certificates to faculty members at Politeknik Harapan Bangsa Surakarta is still conducted manually, where faculty members visit the administrative office to fill out request forms. After filling out the forms, the administrative staff review the data and proceed to generate and hand over the certificates to the faculty members. This process has the potential for errors in data collection and writing, takes up considerable time in the review process, and lacks accessibility for faculty members who may need to be physically present to handle certificate requests. The objective of this research is to develop an information system for generating certificates for faculty members. The research process utilizes the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) waterfall model, where the information system designed is web-based, developed using PHP programming language, and MySQL database. The outcome of this research is an information system that can be utilized by the administrative department to manage archives digitally and promptly according to needs. Specifically, it is a web-based information system designed to streamline the certificate generation process for faculty members at Politeknik Harapan Bangsa Surakarta. This system allows administrators to manage requests and automatically generate certificates.
